Credentialed Evaluator (CE) Designation

The Canadian Evaluation Society (CES), as the professional order for evaluation in Canada, has contributed to the professionalization of evaluation through the CES Credentialed Evaluator (CE) designation program.

The CE designation is designed to define, recognize, and promote the practice of ethical, high-quality, and competent evaluation in Canada through a nationally recognized certification program.

This is a voluntary designation offered exclusively to CES members — a powerful step toward establishing your credibility and advancing your evaluation career.

WHY BECOME A CREDENTIALED EVALUATOR (CE)?

The Credentialed Evaluator designation means that the holder has provided evidence of the education and experience required by the CES to be a competent evaluator. The Credentialed Evaluator designation program is a voluntary certification service provided to Canadian Evaluation Society members.

The Credentialed Evaluator designation program promotes continuous learning within our evaluation community. In this context, this program recognizes those that have attained the education and experience required to provide evaluation services, and calls upon evaluators to maintain and renew these skills on an ongoing basis.

What Credentialed Evaluators Say About the Designation

“I became aware of the CE designation through other colleagues and my former supervisor of my graduate studies in program evaluation at the University of Alberta. I worked through the application process to have my competencies assessed and ultimately obtained the credential. Having the designation helps to demonstrate the competencies I have as an evaluator to prospective employers and clients and I strongly believe that having the designation has opened doors that may have otherwise been closed. I highly recommend to others to go through the process for the CE designation!”

– Krista Brower, PhD (Candidate), M.Ed, CE

“I believe it is important for clients to have confidence that the evaluator they retain has the requisite skills, knowledge and practical experience to be a competent evaluator. The CE is a mark of a competent evaluator.”

– Sharlene Wolbeck Minke, MSc (Health Promotion), CE

“I wanted a clear way to demonstrate the expertise and experience that I hold in evaluation. I also wanted to support the continued professionalization of evaluation.”

– Stephanie Gazzola, CE
